Back in the old days, it took no time at all to get hired. You sent in your resume, had an interview in the next few days and were offered the job shortly after that.

Now it seems that companies are taking much longer to hire new employees. Much of it has to do with finding a good fit and minimizing risk to the company. I’m also suspect as to how much money companies save when they have one less paycheck to cut, and benefits to dole out….. but that’s another story for another day.

An article crossed my desk today offering advice to HR departments on how to hire the right candidate. I knew I had to share this with my job seekers, so they can know what to expect during the hiring process, because knowledge is power.
