A long time ago I had a friend who swore he was a shoe-in for a job in a restaurant that was just launching in our city. You see, he worked for the company before and personally knew the guy who would be in charge. So, he didn’t bother to go through the steps of completely filling out the application, and was annoyed when someone else interviewed him from corporate. Needless to say, he did not get the job and was scratching his head why.

A recent article in CareerJournal explains in detail why it’s always in your best interest to go along with all of the procedures of a job search, even if you are the “one” they are looking for. Good luck in your job search!
