If you’re going to be in the Roanoke area in late January, take note, our first workshop of the year will take place on January 25th from 9 until noon. You’ll learn tricks of the trade from a certified professional resume writer, and have me looking over your shoulder as I help you write your own resume. Granted, you can get free help from the VEC, but most of their advice is out of date. Professional resume writers no longer use objectives, or boring throwaway words that muddle up your document. For $99 I’ll send you a resume template to get you started, along with customized worksheets for your occupation. Then you’ll show up with what you started on January 25th and we’ll go over it, section by section. You’ll save about 75% off what I charge if I wrote it for you.
In order to participate, you’ll need a laptop computer with MS Word 2000 or later. You should also have intermediate level computer skills.
You will learn:
—how to format your resume correctly for applicant tracking systems.
—how recruiters scan your resume
—how to get the most out of the first 30 second glance
—what to include
—what to leave off
Space is limited to 12 participants for maximum interaction with you.
Registration deadline is Wednesday, January 18th.
